Given that there are still many doubts about poisonous snakes and snakebite poisoning, it is advisable to provide information to the people concerned about the basic aspects of the biology of these reptiles and clinical consequences of the ophidian accident, we hope this contribution will help to the knowledge of the community at risk, and that serves to prevent ophidian accidents in the Costa Rican population.
